Taniguchi did not inherit his power, but took it with both hands, waging a quiet war against those gōtō-ō with more power and sway with their clansmen than he had. First, he bent them to his will with bargains and promises. Then, having learned their vulnerabilities, he deployed threats and violence, until none were left to stand against him. During a long and bloody month, those gōtō-ō who did not come around to his way of thinking were murdered. It is said that those who had a change of heart and begged for their lives learned to their despair that it was too late. There is no mercy in Taniguchi.
Description
Taniguchi is a brute of a man, with a fighter’s physique covered in colorful inked tattoos. He wears loose-fitting trousers held up by a belt of rope, and wickedly spiked shoulder armor. But for all his muscle, his true strength is his mind that is like a steel trap. The largest of the tattoos is of a spider with the huge head of a dark-haired woman in a web of flowers. But that spider is not the most remarkable thing about Taniguchi ’s appearance; for he wears the steel jaw of the Suchīrukamen that marks him as the head of the Kumo clan.
Chosen Weapon
Taniguchi wields a vicious ōdachi, a greatsword, that is strapped across the base of his back, easy to draw should the need arise.
