Hebi-Gawa

The Serpent River

Known to many as the Serpent River, the Hebi-Gawa bubbles out of the ground in the shadow of Crane House. Above the spring, the water comes boiling and steaming as it gushes around Soseki, a huge boulder that, according to legend, was used to dam up the wound in the earth that marked the lair of the great serpent Ranputon. Legends say that should the stone cap crack, the slumbering wyrm will be free to return and wreak its brutal havoc once more.
