Kūsho Shinzō

The Elder Brother

Kūsho Shinzō is the greatest of the Seven Blind Brothers — seven brutal mountains that rise all across the land. The Seven Blind Brothers stand alone, and though Kūsho Shinzō  is not the highest peak in Ikaiguchi, it is the single steepest rise. Overlooking the Great Bay, Tsurunoya, and the territory of three clans, people say that whoever controls Kūsho Shinzō controls the secrets of Ikaiguchi.

They’re more right than they know. A small temple sits on the eastern flank of Kūsho Shinzō, weather-battered and unremarkable. Once through its gate, however, the temple is surprisingly well maintained, and very heavily guarded. Kioku Samurai watch the interior zealously, only permitting through authorized members of their clan.

Beyond, a simple stone staircase leads down. At its end, the entrance to the greatest vault of the Kioku. This library is near as vast as the mountain itself, with ancient knowledge and treasure to be found within, so large that some of the catacombs within have not been explored for generations.
