Inshinoakuma

The Green Lake

Across all of Ikaiguchi there are statues of something lost to time. In the lost places of the island, claws, horns, and bodies are carved from stone. But nowhere are they so numerous as Inshinoakuma.

This green lake in the heart of the mountains has giant statues of monsters carved within, emerging from its depths. Their likenesses are harrowing, nightmare-inducing creations. The detailing is exquisite, making these stone statues appear grotesquely lifelike. One clutches at the green water as though fighting against drowning, another appears to be holding a samurai beneath the surface.

Ishinoakuma is masked from view by lush forests that grow around all sides of the lake, and the mountain range makes any sort of approach inhospitable.
