According to the legends, the Shin’rei were long ago banished, but the stories suggest some fragment of them remains in the far places of the world. Chinami cast herself into the oceans, Junrei was buried far below the earth, and Arashi, the Lady of Storms, dwells here, this bone white tower in the northern mountains of Takaikabi, the highest point of all Ikaiguchi.
Yet still the pilgrims come. They follow the perilous roads, longing to see the ancient God, and devote themselves to her. Their path, known as Arashi’s Pass, has earned its other name: Kusatta Michi, the rotten road, for the dead line the road on the way to the tower.
Arashi’s tower has been assaulted before; believing it to be a base for the Ukigumo, Jagun’s Khan’s forces sieged it during The Ongoru Invasion. Their failure has led to rumors that the Ukigumo Clan has a dedicated force of warriors who protect their sacred places.
