It was Mount Akosofu that marked the beginning of the Azure Rebellion. As the volcano bellowed, many interpreted its pyroclastic cry as a call for a free Ikaiguchi. The sentiment grew, and before long unrest began spreading across the country, demanding for freedom from the Ongoru rulers.
The crackdown was swift and harsh. Riders loyal to the occupiers spread across Ikaiguchi, attacking protestors and trade routes supporting the building rebellion. This, in turn, united the Clans, and they rallied in the name of Mitsuhide, as an heir of that dynasty became a figurehead for them.
As their forces rode upon Mienai Yōsai, the Ongoru loyal to Iso were ready to defend him. This puppet leader now represented their entire rulership on the islands, and his forces were ready to hold him. But, as the Clans descended upon the city, he only uttered one phrase: “Let them pass.”
Instead of trying to stamp out the seeds of rebellion, he ceded power to this renewed dynasty. In return he was allowed to keep his honor. In his throne room, before Danjuro Mitsuhide and the seven clan leaders of Ikaiguchi, Emperor Iso committed seppuku, thus giving control back to the Mitsuhide Dynasty once more.
